On Wednesday, March 19th, our 10th Grade students participated in their Personal Project Exhibition. The event provided students with opportunities to:
Showcase their Projects: Students present their products and findings to the school community, sharing their passion and expertise.
Engage in Dialogue: They engage in meaningful conversations with peers, teachers, and parents, explaining their process and answering questions.
Demonstrate Communication Skills: They effectively convey their ideas and insights through visual displays, presentations, and interactive demonstrations.
Celebrate their Achievements: The exhibition is a moment of pride and accomplishment, recognizing the dedication and effort invested in each project.
The Personal Project is the cornerstone of the Middle Years Program as it takes students on a journey of self-discovery where they are able to delve deep into a topic of personal interest by applying the skills they have developed throughout the MYP Program. It is more than an assignment as it is a year-long exploration for the students where they develop goals, apply the Approaches to Learning, create a product or outcome, and reflect on their learning.
The Personal Project is a transformative experience that fosters:
Independent learning: Students develop the ability to manage their time, resources, and learning independently.
Critical thinking and problem-solving: They learn to analyze information, overcome challenges, and adapt their plans.
Personal and intellectual growth: They gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their interests, fostering a lifelong love of learning.
Preparation for the Diploma Program: The skills developed in the Personal Project are essential for success in the rigorous IB Diploma Program.
